High-sugar diets (HSD) are strongly associated with the development of obesity, diabetes, and other metabolic diseases. Diets that are rich in dietary fiber have been reported to have substantial health benefits. Jackfruit seed powder (JSP) is a good source of dietary fiber and could be a possible candidate to fight against metabolic diseases. JSP supplementation showed a significant reduction in HSD-induced hyperphagia and also in body weight gain. The addition of JSP significantly improved glucose tolerance and reduced LDL cholesterol. Overall, JSP consumption could play a vital role in the management of metabolic disorders caused by HSD.
