Jules Vuillemin’s text “De la connaissance sensible et de la parité qu’elle manifeste entre l’homme et l’animal” seems to be the chapter of a book project which was never published. Vuillemin describes as “sensible knowledge” the set of material faculties common to man and animal. Sensible knowledge determines even natural sciences and philosophy. No human specificity can be defined from a material point of view. It consists only in the formal organization of experience, which is the condition of human perfectibility.
