This paper makes reference to the feeling of aversion to and dislike of new technologies, shedding some light on its causes and how it manifests itself in music and in education. Beginning with the Luddite movement, in the early nineteenth century, and passing through the science fiction of the twentieth century, a path is identified to the vision that many individuals maintain about scientific development in our days. Although they make use of essential technologies, such as e-mail or CD player, the group that we refer to as technophobic stays away from the digital universe, finding a justification for this behavior in authors that investigate the damages caused by the use of new technologies in education.
