Lately, rugby has evolved considerably worldwide and nationally, its originality and specificity being that it offers the widest opportunities to express the attributes of human, physical, mental, intellectual and moral qualities. The subject of personality has received considerable attention in the literature of sports psychology, demonstrating that the sports performance is influenced by personality and psychological traits of individuals.The purpose of this paper is to make a personality profile of rugby 7`s players male, highlighting the main factors and dominant characteristics of athletes.In this paper we started from the premise that rugby players have a high level of extraversion and neuroticism and a low level of openness.Were investigated28 male players performance athletes from the Romanian Super League Rugby 7`s, during the competition period. For the personality assessment, the BigFive©plus_shortQuestionnaire was applied by a specialist in the field of psychology,built and validated on the Romanian population in accordance with the Five Factor Model. The individual results were generated by the PsihoProfile platform, and the values of the 5 meta-factors and their facets were entered and analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program, using descriptive statistics.The interpretation of the obtained results highlighted certain dominant characteristics of the personality of rugby players, the average of the values of the 5 factors and their facets in the investigated sample. Thus, an attempt was made to outline a profile of the personality of rugby 7`s players male, by highlighting the factorial features and dominant characteristics of the subjects.
