Our aim in conducting this study is to examine the the demographic data and indications of patients who underwent simultaneous bilateral tube thoracostomy. This is a retrospective observational cohort study conducted in a Training and Research Hospital Thoracic Surgery clinic between January 2010 and January 2020. All patients with simultaneous bilateral tube thoracostomy were included in the study. Patients were grouped according to the etiology of tube thoracostomy into two groups: group 1 (simultaneous bilateral tube thoracostomy due to trauma) and group 2 (non-traumatic simultaneous bilateral tube thoracostomy). Age and gender between groups were compared and indications were examined. Group 1 included 14 patients (mean age: 32.1±14.1 years, 42.9% female) and group 2 included 12 patients (mean age: 74.1±8.4 years, 66.7% female).
