Paisaje y expansión urbana sobre espacios naturales en ciudades intermedias. El caso de Purrumpampa en Huamachuco, La Libertad, Perú

Abstract

The article studies the landscape transformations originated by the informal urbanization from the accelerated urban growth process in Purrumpampa’s wetlands in Huamachuco city. The perceptions and values of landscape, as well as the problems and possibilities are identified on the basis of participatory analysis in round table meetings and workshops where neighbors, officials and leaders gathered. The strategies of residents and public administrators that support the creation of new landscapes are analyzed from an urban sustainability perspective.
