In the format of the round table, which was organized on November 18, 2017, at the Department of Sociology and Psychology of Politics, Faculty of Political Science, Lomonosov Moscow State University, an expert discussion took place on the topic “Russian society and power on the eve of 2018 presidential elections”. The main discussed issues were the psychological peculiarities of the Russian society in the context of presidential elections (the political demands of the Russians, the perception of the electoral process in the Russian society, political values) as well as the status of the elites on the eve of the 2018 presidential elections. The experts of the round table were sociologists and politologists from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, Chelyabinsk State University, Institute of Sociology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, “Public opinion” Fund, Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM), Center of Political Technology, Institute of Social-economic and Political Research, Center of Socio-political Projects and Communication. Representatives of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, of the “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” and of the International News Agency “Rossiya Segodnya” also took part in the discussion.
