Environmental and Financial Analysis of Solar Swimming Pool Heating System for 3 Different Regions of Turkey Using RETScreen Clean Energy Management Software

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that our country has. In this study, the analysis of the solar pool water-heating project that can be established in 3 different provinces of our country was made using the Retscreen program. The selected provinces are Ankara, Antalya and Erzurum. According to the results obtained, it has been observed that if such a system is established in Ankara, Antalya and Erzurum, natural gas savings of 9505 m3, 9701 m3 and 7570 m3 will be achieved, respectively. It has been observed that the annual greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced by 85% in Ankara, 88% in Antalya and 66% in Erzurum thanks to the project. In addition, the payback periods of the system were 8.8 years, 6.8 years and 12.1 years for Ankara, Antalya and Erzurum, respectively.
