Spatial distribution of small undergrowth in forests of the Novgorod-Sivers’k Polissia
Abstract
Data on characteristics of the spatial distribution of small undergrowth of Pinus sylvestris L., Quercus robur L. and Acer platanoides L. in forest phytocenoses, which are typical for Novgorod-Sivers’k Polissia, are presented. It was found that individuals of young generation on the reforestation area are mostly contagiously distributed. An important role in its spatial distribution plays the plants needs in the light conditions, humidity and the state of living ground cover. At the present stage the presence of windfall microrelief and deadwood in the region does not affect the spatial distribution of the small undergrowth.
