This article explores the way in which memory and repetition figures in the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. On the one hand, it focuses at a number of storage media represented in BtVS – technical and non-technical as well as personal ones –, recording knowledge, events etc. and thus being able to re-play the past. On the other hand, if the horror genre is conceived of as an archive containing all of its motifs, characters and narratives, BtVS also works its way through this collection, re-using elements from it and adding to it. The essay investigates the series’ relationship to this and other archives, memory and recollection.
