THE INVESTIGATION OF TURKISH PROVERBS IN TERMS OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS
Abstract
The investigation was carried out to identify the proverbs in Turkey Turkish about children, childhood and children rights. The research was conducted with qualitative research approach. It was used case study. The data was analyzed with content analyses. It was identified as a sample Aksoy (1988)’s Atasözleri ve Deyimler Sözlüğü I-II and TDK (2009)’s Bölge Ağızlarında Atasözleri ve Deyimler I-II. These were Idioms and Proverbs Dictionaries. 6915 proverbs were examined in this context. 285 proverbs were considered directly to be related to childhood and children's rights from 6915. Therefore, we can say that proverbs’ 4.12% made in a positive or negative judgment on direct child. These proverbs were determined to be related to the rights of children living 38'24'%, protection 31'57'%, development 22'80'%, participation 7,36’%. It has revealed that negative judgments of 54%, positive judgments of 47% of proverbs.
