Among the archaeological areas buried by the Vesuvian eruption of 79 A.D., the Oplontis’ site offers the most significant monumental evidence of the Pompeian suburbs. Its architectures, brought back to light at different times, were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List on 6th December 1997 and present today different problems of conserva- tion and accessibility influenced by the operations related to its discovery and by the territorial context. The Oplontis’ site rises in a degraded context of the city of Torre Annunziata (NA), poorly served by infrastructures and services able to connect it to the nearby archaeological area of Pompeii and to the main tourist flows. The contribution aims to deepen the knowledge of the Oplontis' villas to evaluate possible strategies of enhancement and improvement of the enjoyment related to the acquisition and use of structures adjacent to the archaeological site such as the "the Royal Arms Factory" historical military complex in disuse.
