The growing number of French and international students in French higher education has led to an increase in the number of courses on academic skills. The heterogeneity of this population implies choices about the systems put in place: a generic approach covering a diverse population or, on the contrary, a micro approach which can only be deployed within the framework of a specific discipline. This article presents the reasoning behind the implementation of the FRançais ACadémique project at the Université Paul-Valéry, whose objective is to reconcile the macro and micro levels of instructional design.
