The Effect of Educational Computer Games on Students’ Social Skill and Their Educational Achievement

The aim of this semi experimental research was to study the effect of educational computer games on students’ social skills and their educational progress. To this end, sixty students of 5th grade were selected from a primary school. They were randomly assigned in control and experimental groups. The experiment group spends sixty sessions of 45 minutes playing computer game for two months. The covariance results showed that computer games do not increase cooperation and expression variables in a meaningful way, but significant increase for dependent variables such as empathy about 10.2, self-control 8.2, in general social skills about 13.8 and educational achievement the effect was about 84.2.
