The elderly experience a lot of emotional problems when they face stressful events of which religious orientation could act as a protective layer in the elderly. Hence, present study was conducted to reveal the relationship between stressful events and psychiatric (Psychological) problems with mediation role of religious orientation in the elderly. This is a descriptive correctional study. The statistical community of this study consisted of all the elderly men and women over 60 years old in Hamedan Nursing Homes. Sample size was 92 (52 male and 40 female). They were selected using available sampling method. The data collection tools included the stressful life events Questionnaire of pickle and colleagues, Psychiatric (Psychological) problems Questionnaire of Dragotis and colleagues and Religious Orientation Questionnaire of Alport.
