Origins of 12 year animal calendar and it’s connection with Shagaa festival

Abstract

Article reviews the origins of 12 year and 60 year cyclic animal calendar which is utilized by the Tuvans. It also investigates into the derivation of term "shaga” – the Tuvan New Year festival.
