Brazilian semiarid: some challenges / Semiárido brasileiro: alguns desafios

Abstract

This text is part of the conclusion of the degree course in Geography of the Sertão Campus of the Federal University of Alagoas. Our goal is to build general reflections on the Brazilian semi-arid region, raising some notes about the region in its challenges and potentialities. The federal government has been implementing important projects in the high sertao region, as it has shown significant results in the life of the Northeastern people. But they serve only to alleviate the suffering of the people that are usually welfare actions and that are becoming eternal.
