Abstract

This paper presents some of the results obtained in the Ph.D. thesis “Methodological contributionstowards the establishment of rural tourism in the Republic of Cuba. Case study: tourist area ofViñales”, Camargo (2003). The main objective of this article is to know international customers’ preferencesfor the practice of rural tourism, modality which offers a wide range of possibilities for its introductionaccording to the natural-cultural potential of the area. In the questionnaire used, travelers wereasked to rate a set of elements for the practice of rural tourism. Different statistical techniques as well asdescriptive statistics are used for the analysis of the results of the questionnaire
