A Future Educational Role for Families to Deal with Divorce in Jordan

The study aims to build a future educational role for family to deal with the divorce phenomenon of by identifying the reasons leading to divorce from the point of view of divorced wives and husbands, and the implications of divorce on both wife and children. The study used the descriptive approach. The study population consisted of all divorce cases in Jordan from 2012 to 2016 which were (24898) divorces. The study sample was selected by simple random method from those who were present in the courts, the viewing houses, the social development centers, and women's associations. The sample consisted of (2042) divorced men and women. To achieve the objectives of the study, a 65-item questionnaire was developed. The results showed that the interference of relatives, dealing with the rights and duties, family upbringing of the spouses, and economic status, respectively, are among the main causes of divorce. Based on the results of the study, the researcher recommends the need to spread awareness about the dangers of domestic violence and its repercussions, holding seminars on family issues and the rights of both husband and wife, and making people aware of the problems that both spouses may encounter.
