The Cartography in the era of the information: infocartography

Abstract

Infocartography can be understood as a link between cartographic science and computational technology. In terms of map production, two categories appear: softmaps and hardmaps. In this sense, to work on infocartography means applying the most advanced technological achievements and, at the same time, considering the theoretical and scientific background about maps established during the long cartographic history
