Précaires sur les pistes aéroportuaires
Abstract
European airline deregulation policies have led to greater outsourcing of ground handling services and caused in turn a casualisation of labour. Facing the segmentation of work groups and given the uncertainty that accompanies flexible work, management has started fomenting greater competition between workers, translating in turn into a return to informal paternalistic relationships. Runway work is also subject to more formal constraints nowadays, reflecting a series of security, safety and industrial regulations. The goal is to maintain mobilisation and quality control over the activities exercised by peripheral and casualised workers.
