Prendre en compte l’immobilité dans les imaginaires de la mobilité
Abstract
As counterparts, mobility and immobility are an inextricable continuum. Nevertheless, main sociological interest of the mobility turn focuses more on mobility. In contemporary mobility imaginary, immobility is overshadowed or disappears. At least, immobility is used to underlined social inequalities between individuals. At best, immobility is considered as a mean to be mobile. By confronting scientific or literary imaginaries with representations of French periurban women about their life cycle or their everyday life, the link between mobility and immobility appears more complex, each of them could be the base of each other.
