Development of navigable communications of the Arctic as an element of national security of the Russian Federation

Abstract

The objective reasons of revival of the Northern Sea Route have been analyzed. The assessment of nuclear icebreaking fleet of Russia and other countries, as well as transport and logistic structures of the Arctic and its ports have been given. Geopolitical interests of the Russian Federation in this region have been considered.
