Le rivage de la petite Syrte : apport de la sédimentologie à l'étude de la progradation du rivage dans les environs de Gigthi (Tunisie méridionale), résultats préliminaires

Abstract

The shoreline progradation around Gigthi results from local fluvial dynamics and sediment supply, in particular those of the El Fjè wadi. The successive defluviations of the latter have led to the formation of a deltaic fan, between the shoreline and the abandoned cliff. Radiocarbon dates and sedimentological analyzes from two cores allow us to propose a preliminary palaeoenvironmental reconstruction since Roman times.
