Plastic deformation methods that can obtain very high plastic deformation ratios even in single pass due to shear stresses are called “Severe Plastic Deformation (SPD) Methods”. The total strain can further be increased by increasing the number of passes. Excessive plastic deformation methods can be classified as equal channel angular compression and cyclic extrusion - compression. Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP), among the related methods, is the most known and mostly applied method. On the other hand, problems are encountered in using the ECAP dies, such as crack occurrence in the die elements due to the high notch effect at the corner regions of the dies. In this respect, using the segmented or multi pieces die approach provides an important opportunity. Current study provides the early results of the experimental works carried out with the re-designed and produced multi-pieces ECAP dies in order to increase the effectiveness of the dies. Also discussed are the 6063 aluminum materials that were subjected to plastic deformation in two steps as prismatic samples ECAP’ed in square cross sectioned channel and the usability of the dies as well as the problems encountered.
