Discussion on the emergency service of Weifang earthquake monitoring center station for the Qingzhou M3.4 earthquake

At 07:53 on May 2, 2022, a magnitude 3.4 earthquake occurred in Qingzhou City, Weifang City, Shandong Province (36.55°N,118.27°E), with a focal depth of 8 km. After the earthquake, Weifang Earthquake Monitoring Center Station responded quickly, immediately organized forces to carry out earthquake situation analysis and judgment, on-site mobile monitoring, disaster investigation and intensity assessment, emergency publicity and other works, and fully played the vanguard role of the provincial agency’s earthquake work. This paper discusses the emergency work of Qingzhou earthquake from three aspects: the current situation of Weifang Earthquake Monitoring Center Station and the layout of observation instruments, the response of earthquake emergency service, and the post-earthquake thinking and suggestions, and shares the specific measures taken to deal with the earthquake emergency, providing experience accumulation and scientific reference for other brother stations to effectively deal with the sudden earthquake, which has certain practical significance.
