Tungurahua volcano

Abstract

Ecuador is a country exposed to multiple hazards. Volcanic eruptions, floods, earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis, droughts... Due to political, social, economic, cultural and environmental factors among others, the susceptibility (vulnerability) to be affected is very large, so it is possible to say that Ecuador has a high risk to be affected by these hazards.The photographs of the article were taken during the year 2008 and they show the disaster risk due to the Tungurahua eruptions.
