Da Napoli a Rimini: i corrispondenti di Giovanni Bianchi
Abstract
Since his first trip to Naples in 1726, Giovanni Bianchi maintains correspondence with the Neapolitan intellectual environment. The sending of his printed works to Francesco Vargas Macciucca and his acquaintances extends the chain of Neapolitan correspondents who, proud of his friendship, report every editorial novelty of the capital to the illustrious citizen of Rimini. Foreign travelers also entertain correspondence with Rimini: passing through the capital in search of antiquarian or naturalistic finds, they report their impressions on the recent discoveries of Herculaneum or on the eruptive phases of Vesuvius. Among the over forty names of those, who in addition to Alessandro Catani, kept alive the scientific and literary curiosity of G. Bianchi for fifty years, those of Celestino and Ferdinando Galiani, Francesco Serao, Domenico Cotugno, Domenico Cirillo, Giovanni Maria Della Torre stand out. Above all, that of Minister Bernardo Tanucci emerges.
