Le cerf et le lion : métamorphose et châtiment divin dans les Dionysiaques de Nonnos de Panopolis

Abstract

This article proposes a joint reading of the myths of Actaeon and Pentheus as treated in the Dionysiaca of Nonnus of Panopolis. This reading focuses on the notion of metamorphosis and considers the possibility that it does not actually take place. The fineness of the boundary between humans and animals and the blurring of this boundary are analysed here.
