Planète Terre : la géographie dans la sphère publique

Abstract

The absence of geographers from public debates is striking, considering how strong the social demand for geography is, and the skills they possess, which could be put forth in contemporary intellectual debates. This article explains the genesis and general philosophy of Planète Terre (“Planet Earth”) a radio program about geography broadcasted on the French radio station France Culture. This program gives the general public access to geography and gives geographers access to the media.
