Contribution of historical geography and geo-history to the renewal of geographic and historical thoughts in the 20th century / Contribuição da geografia histórica e da geo-história para a renovação dos pensamentos geográficos e históricos no século XX

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the refutations of the process of Renewal of Geographical and Historical thought in the 20th century using the bibliographical research weaving the contributions of Historical Geography and Geohistory that emerged as a criticism of Modern Geography of the nineteenth century. Thus, we sought to elucidate how this process of methodological formation of thought currents occurred, the professionals who helped to disseminate this new method, and the Annales who brought great contributions by introducing the "New History" through interdisciplinarity with the social sciences in historical time. In addition to showing that these occurred three movements for this renewal and that only one emerged out of this context in 1970.
