Abstract
RESUMEN Abordar la figura de Tamara de Lempicka significa rescatar del olvido a una de las artistas más importantes del Art Déco, la única retratista importante en este estilo. Mujer que recurrió a su atractivo y encantos físicos para autopromocionarse. Excesivamente pendiente de su triunfo social, no interesó a las vanguardias ni las vanguardias le interesaron a ella. Este y otros factores contribuyeron a que su creación pictórica quedara arrinconada en un inmerecido plano dentro de la Historia del Arte. Un escenario ai que, sin duda alguna, debe de volver, y ésta vez, sin ser tenida por nadie. ABSTRACT Approaching the figure of Tamara de Lempicka means rescuing from oblivion one of the most important art déco artists, the only significant portrait artist in this style. A woman who made the most of her attractiveness and physical charms to achieve her own advancement, and excessively concerned with her social success, avant-garde movements showed no interest in her, and vice versa. This and other factors contributed to her undeserved confinement to a corner of the history of art, but she should undoubtedly return centre stage, without being feared by anybody.
