Impact of family-centered study: the theory-based intervention to increase preventive behaviors iron deficiency anemia on the primary students: A randomized controlled trial protocol

Background: Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional problem in the world and is one of the main causes of anemia, especially in girls.Objectives: The aim of this study will be to evaluate the educational intervention program based on the Intervention Mapping approach to increase mothers' preventive behaviors against iron deficiency on the primary students.Methods: This will be a matched-pair two arm parallel randomized controlled trial. Participants will be assigned to intervention (n=75) and control (n=75) groups based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. We intend to present an education through referring the questioner in person and communicating with the mothers of the selected student to participate in the study, the required information is collected from them using a written questionnaire by interview with the questioner. The intervention consists of four sessions using the Integrated (Intervention Mapping approach) model. Data will be collected at baseline and after six months of follow-up.Conclusion: This trial will be an innovative work because the trial study has pioneered to represent the first set of Model-based education, as well as attractive intervention to increase preventive behaviors iron deficiency anemia on the primary students.
