Military plans of the royal Yugoslav army: The Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes: Against Albania 1928-1938
Abstract
The relationships between the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Albania during the period of 1928 - 1938, were marked by tension resulting in signing of the Tirana pact. Thus, Albania was finally brought under Italian sphere of influence, while the Yugoslav side tried to find the ways to secure its interest in the South. Military plans, which were designed by the Yugoslav General staff in the late twenties and thirties, reflected the intentions of securing the border with Albania, considering the real possibility of being threatened by the Italian army. In comparison with previous plans, preventive attack and entering Albanian territory was still valid, while stronger forces were predicted for closing sensitive directions and securing the border.
