The features of the American perception of the Religious Situation in Ukraine

Abstract

The article stated the basic features of the evaluation of the church split of 2018 from the representatives of the American foreign policy, in particular the officials of the U.S. State Department. The author concluded that the official representatives of the United States no doubt give the political support to the Ukrainian politicians, greeting the move towards the independent autocephalous church in general. Therefore it is necessary to take in account that the main obstacle on a way of the total support of the Ukraine by the American side in a church question is the evident contradiction between the actions and declarations of the Ukrainian politicians and the principles of religious freedom and the defending of the freedom of religion or belief
