SENTIDO DE COMUNIDADE COMO PROMOTOR DE BEM ESTAR EM CRIANÇAS BRASILEIRAS
Abstract
This article aims to identify the impact of sense of comm unity in predicting personal well - being in Brazilian children from the South Region of Brazil. The study included 1635 children between the ages of 8 and 13 years (M=10.17, SD=1.49). The Personal Well Being Scale (PWB) and the adapted Sense of Community In dex were used. Multiple Regression Analyses were performed with the full scale of personal well - being as the dependent variable. We identified that the scale factors community connectedness and community relationships are predictors of Personal Well - Being. Therefore, it is necessary to promote community based interventions with children with a focus on connectedness with the community and with neighbors as a way of promoting well - being among Brazilian children.
