Promotion of reading in the integral community project of the Basic Schools in Venezuela

Abstract

The general objective of this research was to analyzehow reading is promoted in fifth grade students of basic education through the implementation of the Comprehensive Community Project. The methodology was identified as descriptive, with a transectional design, where the population was established by 80 students of both sexes, belonging to the fifth gradeat the morning shift of the José María Vargas Basic School in the Lagunillas Municipality, Zulia State. A questionnaire was designed as a data collection instrument, validated by experts whose data were tabulated and interpreted statistically according to the scale. The results show a weak promotion of reading from the base project of the institution, because the activities destined for that purpose are sporadic; consequently, it is recommended the design and implementation of dynamic strategies to minimize the problem
