20th anniversary of the Meteorologische Zeitschrift

Abstract

20 volumes of the new Meteorologische Zeitschrift have now appeared in the period from 1992 to 2011. This anniversary article starts with a look back on the founding of the new Meteorologische Zeitschrift. The decisive meeting took place in Vienna in 1991 and brought together scientists from five Central European countries. Then changes in style, length, and language in articles published in the Meteorologische Zeitschrift within the last 20 years are analysed. Papers become ever longer, contain more figures and make reference to more other papers. The article concludes with a short view on recent changes in Meteorologische Zeitschrift. This includes lists of Special Issues published since 2008 and Classic Papers published since 2009.
