To create an international social science means that social scientists have to learn not only the dictionary meanings of words, but also their meanings in everyday life. But the conditions of university life in the United States do not motivate people to do that. Since the United States unfortunately plays an excessively large role in intellectual life today, the outcome is a resounding failure in international communication in sociology.
