Social Innovation Chain: From a Brucellosis Nanovaccine to Social Inclusion in Patagonia

Abstract

The benefits of nanotechnology could be traced across different industries and, with a responsible governance, could help with social problems. This paper engages with the contingent nature of social innovations, proposing a narrative chain that explain why the production of a new brucellosis nanovaccine in Patagonia, could have positive impact in social inclusion in the Argentine context. In particular, the mentioned nanovaccine will help reducing ovine brucellosis, increasing local production and local labor. This work argues that promoting this micro policy, would increase social inclusion in Patagonia.
