In the following pages we will link Gesualdo’s work with musical aspects of recent and contemporary composers as Scelsi, Ligeti, Lachenmann, Eötvös, Rihm and Kate Soper. We will explore the music of these last with the aim of understanding axial matters of contemporary culture. With this purpose, we will focus our attention on the link between a tragic and a comical worldview, as well as on the solipsism of the contemporary individual. Finally, we will connect all these aspects with a specific meaning of creation.
