Abstract

The rules of law, including all pertinent discourses, were codified after the Abbasid era. During this time, numerous scholars and the four jurisprudence schools each published their own works. For instance, the teachings of Imam Āwzā’ī, Imam Sufyān Thawrī, Imam Layth ibn S’ad, etc., which were not codified by his disciples in the same manner as the first four schools of thought. Although study was the dominating trend throughout this time, imitation was also used to cultivate this period.
