Study on the Stability Evaluation of Sand Bar-lagoon Geomorphology System in Fudu River Estuary
Abstract
Sand bar-lagoon is a kind of geomorphic system which is in the process of dynamic equilibrium adjustment. It has typical estuarine ecosystem and important scientific research value. This paper constructed the stability evaluation index model of sandbar-lagoon system from three aspects: the supply characteristics of material sources, the external interference characteristics and the structural characteristics of sandbar-lagoon system, which was used to evaluate the stability of sandbar-lagoon system in Fudu estuary. The results showed that the stability of sand bar-lagoon decreased significantly from 2001 to 2012, and the increase in the intensity of coastal development activities such as dam construction and coastal aquaculture was the main reason for the decline in stability. In the stage of small human disturbance, the stability of sand bar-lagoon gradually adjusted and tended to dynamic equilibrium, but it was difficult to restore the original stable state. The sandbar-lagoon coast was an important object of coastal remediation. The quantitative index method was used to identify the evolution trend of sandbar-lagoon coast, which could further enhance the rationality of coastal remediation countermeasures.
