Testing the traction characteristics of the vehicle under real load conditions using a chassis dynamometer

Abstract

In the Technical Laboratory Center for Testing Motor Vehicles of the Faculty of Traffic in Doboj, the traction characteristics of the "Pezzo" passenger car were tested, i.e. the performance on the chassis dynamometer. After analyzing the measurement results and calculating the physical quantities, the actual values of the maximum engine power [kW] and maximum torque [Nm] in real driving conditions on the road were obtained. The comparison method was used to analyze the deviation of the obtained values in relation to the technical characteristics provided by the manufacturer. Therefore, the main goal of the research is to determine how much the technical characteristics of the vehicle given by the manufacturer in the technical documentation deviate from the actual data obtained by measuring the performance in stationary conditions on the chassis dynamometer, taking into account the exploitation of the vehicle.
