A majority of authors argue today that the Parliament should refrain from enacting laws dealing with the historical past, but that it is perfectly acting in its role when it adopts resolutions with the same object. This is surprising because resolutions do not evade many of the reproaches adressed to «memorial laws». The astonishing success of the resolutions can be explained by an effort to give a strictly legal appearance to a political point of view.
