Lista de las diatomeas de ambientes continentales de Colombia

Abstract

A review of literature, museum collections and original data from different authors was made in order to gather the records of freshwater diatom species in Colombia. A preliminary list for the country includes 681 species distributed in 87 genera. Among them Eunotia (98 sp), Navicula (66 sp), Pinnularia (64 sp), Nitzschia (49 sp) and Gomphonema (47 sp) are those that have higher species richness; Information about geographical distribution in Colombia, authors that reported and / or described the species, habitat, if they were studied with light or electron microscope and therefore kind of images available, is given.
