SrTiO3 hydrothermal synthesis mediated by cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) and tert-butyl amine (TBA), resulted in a typical nanopolyhedral morphology. All samples were identified as single-phase, adopting a Pm3m cubic crystal structure. Morphological observations revealed a transformation in the shape of SrTiO3 nanoparticles, transitioning from truncated cubes to truncated rhombic dodecahedrons. The phenomenon between CTAB and TBA on the surface of SrTiO3 crystal planes was evident through electrostatic interaction. The optical band gap exhibited a size-dependent behavior linked to the crystallite size. This work provides a preliminary insight into the potential of additives in controlling the formation of SrTiO3 nanopolyhedrals.
