The activity of care taking impacts the possibilities, conditions, practices, and mobility decisions of women. Drawing on seventeen interviews, this article collects the daily mobility experiences of mothers residing in the district of Independencia, Lima, Peru. These interviews emphasized the influence of care taking, which increased as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the collected data, three mobility profiles have been identified: «caregivers with privileged mobility», «working caregivers with obstructed mobility”, and «caregivers with micro-mobility». These profiles reveal the particularities of kind of mobility, the different types of urban, gender, and socioeconomic barriers that mothers face, and the strategies they use to confront them.
