A cidade espetáculo : efeito da globalização
Abstract
Lately, the urban processes and projects of the cities follow a market logic, causing competition between the global cities. The changes caused by globalization affect the production of urban space, creating the cities spectacle, promoted by the urban planning strategy, that intends transform these spaces into new centralities, using for this, the cultural and leisure activities as tools. However, the cultural factor is only a pretext in a market logic, followed by the renewal urban policies and the image-making that try to reinvent the city, giving it a new identity to be explored by the city marketing
