Application of polar, photogrammetric and LiDAR method in measurement of stone aggregate stockpile volume
Abstract
At this time, the methods of surveying details by unmanned aerial vehicles and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) systems have become equal to classical geodetic methods, especially when surveying larger areas in a very short period of time with great precision. One of the most important applications of the above systems is the calculation of material stock quantities. It is quite certain that these methods represent the future in modern geodesy. Unmanned aerial vehicles and LiDAR systems with various types of sensors are currently available on the market, which justify their use in geodetic works with their quality and relatively low price. With the development of new methods, mathematical models and software solutions, modern photogrammetry makes maximum use of new technology with the help of which it is possible to perform measurements with centimetre precision and accuracy.
